The European Physical Agents Directive 2003/10/EC introduced an obligation for all member states to create specific Statutory Instruments to deal with Noise and Vibration. As such the United Kingdom published the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005. These articles of legislation created a specific obligation for all UK employers to control the risks associated with noise and vibration exposure.
