Asbestos in Buildings

Ethos Environmental Ltd offers a fast-response, quality and cost-effective asbestos analysis service. The company maintains UKAS accreditation to ISO 17025 for laboratory identification of asbestos.

Asbestos in Soils
Asbestos can present significant health risks, financial liabilities and development project timescale risks when uncovered on brownfield sites at the site investigation stage, or later. The company provides a fast-response site sampling and laboratory analysis service to meet this growing client requirement.
The asbestos-in-soils test is quantitative and to a greater limit of sensitivity (0.001%) than the standard asbestos analysis for building products, and is provided by only a few UK laboratories.
Where asbestos is suspected or has been found to be present in site investigation and contaminated land assessments, this service can assist clients in defining the extent and degree of contamination. Such contamination usually requires three sets of regulators to be satisfied - the local authority planning and environmental health departments, the environmental regulator (EA/SEPA) and the HSE.
In addition, off-site disposal costs for asbestos are becoming extremely expensive, so accurate and defensible demarcation of the extent of contamination can be highly cost-effective strategy.

Ethos Environmental Ltd is not currently accreditated for the analysis of Asbestos in Soils, however, the analysis is undertaken at a UKAS Accreditated Lab approved under our own quality management system.
